Accessibility: The entire museum route is accessible to people in wheelchairs; the presence of architectural barriers does not allow access to visitors with wheelchair and severe motor disabilities to the Nazario Sauro submarine and galley.
A guided tour of the duration of 1h and 30 in the path that tells the journey of the Italians who emigrated to America at the end of 800 and then describes Italy today, country also immigration. In the first part you discover Genoa as it was by going through the alleys, shops and the maritime station. After the customs checks you board the steamer “Città di Torino” to the Americas, you embark on the voyage by sea and disembark at Ellis Island where you are subject to the controls of the commissioners.
The second part is dedicated to today’s immigration. It includes first-person testimonies of those who arrive in an unknown country, also told with messages in bottles on a fishing boat seized in Lampedusa. We will talk about numbers, data and history of the migratory phenomenon in Italy.
