Our activities

Galata’s educational services adhere periodically throughout the year to:
international proposals such as International Museum Day, European Maritime Day, International Migrant Day national proposals such as Kid pass days, Famu – families at the museum, Columbus Day and local proposals such as the Science Festival periodically planning themed activities to be together with family and friends in the museum.
In addition, on the occasion of the annual holidays, we plan recreational activities for the whole family or just for children.

Brigantino Anna: family adventure

We climb on the brig Anna and explore the space of the bridge equipped with large and light rudders, anchors, salpa anchors, bozzelli, furnishings and many instruments on board.

With the help of simple games involving all participants, we understand together the principle of Archimedes how sonar works, a tool that the submarine uses to identify obstacles and dangers. Then we visit the Nazario Sauro and we look for his curiosities.

A guided tour of the duration of 1h and 30 in the path that tells the journey of the Italians who emigrated to America at the end of 800 and then describes Italy today, country also immigration. In the first part you discover Genoa as it was by going through the alleys, shops and the maritime station. After the customs checks you board the steamer "Città di Torino" to the Americas, you embark on the voyage by sea and disembark at Ellis Island where you are subject to the controls of the commissioners.
