Date: From 3 to 15 September 2025

Art, Sustainability and the Sea: A Creative Dialogue for the Future

From 3 to 15 September 2025, Galata Museo del Mare in Genoa presents RECYCLING & MARE – Art for the Environment, an exhibition that brings together contemporary art and environmental engagement through mixed-media works created with reclaimed and repurposed materials.

Curated by art critic Fabrizia Buzio Negri, the exhibition features around forty works – including paintings, sculptures, and photographs – by thirteen artists from the Contemporary Arte&Ambiente APS association, known for promoting sustainable artistic practices.

Each artwork explores the themes of the sea and the environment, using recycled and multi-material elements in a creative approach that transforms reuse into both narrative and protest.
Techniques include collage, regenerated textiles, and assemblages of objects gathered from beaches or discarded by industry.
