Rotte in libertà
Type: Exhibition
Date: From 11 to 28 September 2025
“Rotte in Libertà” docks in Genoa — the new solo exhibition by artist Ester Maria Negretti, dedicated to the sea, the art of sailing, and the profound bond between human beings and water.
Through an original and sensory collection, Negretti captures the freedom of voyaging on the open sea in a series of richly textured works, created using mixed techniques, torn advertising posters, and materials gathered from beaches. Each canvas carries the rhythm of the waves, the emotion of the wind, and the salt-tinged memories of life at sea.
The exhibition unfolds like an artistic crossing, guided by waves, wind, and recollections from life on board. Large-scale works with powerful evocative force are accompanied by a sound installation that reproduces the voice of the sea, immersing visitors in its timeless presence.
“Rotte in Libertà” is also a tribute to women sailors and to freedom as a universal dimension — open to all, at sea as on land.
An experience for everyone
Conceived for a wide audience, the exhibition fascinates both adults and children: younger visitors will delight in discovering the unusual recycled materials embedded in the works, while adults will be invited to deeper reflections on freedom, identity, and the meaning of the journey.
